Kingborough Interim Planning Scheme 2015

The Minister for Planning has declared an interim planning scheme to apply to all of the land in the Municipality of Kingborough.

Notice of the declaration of the Kingborough Interim Planning Scheme 2015 (Interim Scheme) was published in the Tasmanian Government Gazette on 1st July 2015 and went into operation on the same day.

The Kingborough Planning Scheme 2000 ceased to have effect on that day (this scheme can still be found here for viewing).  Valid permit applications received by close of business on the 30th June 2015 will be determined under that previous Scheme.  Any application received as from 1st July 2015 will be assessed against the Kingborough Interim Planning Scheme 2015.

The Kingborough Interim Planning Scheme 2015 is part of a broader planning reform program that is being implemented across the whole of Tasmania.  The Interim Scheme is consistent with a statewide template and includes many common provisions to other interim planning schemes.  As an “interim” scheme it is also a translation of the former planning scheme and will be publicly advertised for comment.
