Knowing your rights and getting support

Have you ever needed help to navigate a difficult situation or issue and wished you had a professional and calm person who could stand beside you or speak on your behalf?

Whether you are receiving care, helping arrange care for someone else, preparing for the future or troubled by an issue or injustice – Advocacy Tasmania has staff dedicated to assisting individuals in an independent confidential and professional manner. They will be presenting Council’s next Tuesday Talk: Knowing Your Rights and Getting Support, on Tuesday, 5 June at Kingston LINC.

They will explain the rights of people receiving help at home and will also cover aspects of elder abuse. The Advocacy Tasmania service is free and confidential and this Tuesday Talk is a great opportunity to get to know who they are and how they can help.

If you are interested in knowing more about Advocacy Tasmania, or care for someone who might benefit from their support, please book a place with our Community Development Officer on 6211 8170.

Tuesday Talks are free and are provided as part of Kingborough Council’s Positive Ageing Program.
