A significant upgrade to the Nierinna Creek Track in Margate has just been finished, including the installation of new steps.
However, due to the environment being very wet and muddy, we unfortunately need to close the top section (Lawless Rd to Perrins Rd) to allow the new track work and steps to stabilise. The surface needs to dry out and harden and the best way to do this is to prevent further foot traffic (in particular horses), to avoid getting divets and needing more work to repair the section.
Signage will be installed tomorrow, Wednesday 12 August, and we expected to reopen the track in early September for all to enjoy.
