Seniors Week in Kingborough

Kingborough Council is celebrating Seniors Week again this year, with some new activities and information sessions.

A guided bushland walk is first on the agenda, which will run along the Kettering Point Track. A member of our Natural Resource Management Team will point out all the natural wonders, which will then be followed by a picnic lunch that we will be providing. The walk is about an hour’s return and will start at 11 am on Wednesday, 14 October. This is a COVID Safe event so please call us on 6211 8170 to reserve a place and find out the details.

The second activity is a day of free IT support sessions, hosted by Council of the Ageing (COTA) and in partnership with Aurora Energy. They are bringing along a group of technical expert volunteers to offer one-to-one assistance for people to better understand and make sure of their digital devices – such as phones, tablets, or laptops. The sessions are free and you’ll have your own IT guru for an hour to show you tips and provide advice. Bookings are essential for these sessions so please contact us on 6211 8170 for more information.

There will be a variety of activities provided by a range of service providers and community groups in an effort to encourage us to think about ageing in positive ways. Visit the COTA website for events and ideas on how to keep active and engaged, and to become your own ambassador for ageing well at www.ctotas.org.au.
