Disability Inclusion & Access Advisory Committee

Nominations are now open for membership on the Council’s Disability Inclusion & Access Advisory Committee.
Kingborough Mayor and Chair of the committee, Paula Wriedt said the Council was seeking members for a two-year period from 2022 to 2023.

“The Committee provides advice and assistance to Council on access issues and makes sure the Disability concerns in the community are raised and addressed,” Cr Wriedt said.

“Every two months the committee meets here at the Council Chambers during business hours.

“As a committee we have initiated a number of projects that raise awareness and improve the access needs of our community.

“As a committee we have created a ‘Building an Accessible Home’ brochure and recommended for improved access conditions in some commercial premises in Kingborough.

“This is an important committee which has influence over how the Council makes sure that best practice access is considered.

“I look forward to welcoming our new members to the committee and encourage nominations.”
