Kingborough Council will close a section of Channel Highway from John Street to Hutchins Street on Tuesday 28 February for approximately 10 weeks (see detailed map).
The upgrades will allow for future growth, improve pedestrian access for all, provide enhanced cycling capabilities, new green areas throughout the CBD and the possibility for outdoor dining opportunities for cafes and restaurants.
Closing this section of the road for 10 weeks will save costs and speed up construction work on the upgrade.
Although traffic will be restricted, pedestrians will have access to all the businesses and services on the Channel Highway during construction.
Traffic will be able to travel around the CBD via Goshawk Way, John Street and Church Street. (please see map)
