Celebrating our Talented Youth

To kick off Youth Week in Tasmania, Kingborough Council is hosting its first ever Youth Talent Show, Kingborough’s Got Talent, on Saturday 29 April 2023.

Kingborough Mayor, Paula Wriedt said Kingborough’s young people demonstrated their amazing diversity of talent at auditions held in March.

“We received over 35 applications, with young people displaying dancing, singing, music, drama and even circus skills,” Cr Wriedt said.

“I’m really proud of everyone who has boldly stepped up to show us their talents.

“Finalists will take part in the showcase performance, Kingborough’s Got Talent, at the end of April, in front of a panel of well-known judges.

“We know this will be a memorable night for the whole community to enjoy, with special guest MC John X sure to keep the crowd entertained between acts.

“For those performing, there are some great prizes on offer, including first prize of $1,000 in the winner’s choice of gift vouchers.

“Kingston High School students have offered to help with backstage roles on the night.

“The talent show will officially kick off Youth Week in Tasmania, to be held between 1 and 7 May, and aligns with year’s theme, Acceptance: Be Bold. Be You.

“We want as many people as possible supporting our talented young people, so be bold and book your tickets now!”
