Refugee Stories – Living in Between

Kingborough Council is committed to welcoming and supporting refugees in our community.

Kingborough Mayor, Paula Wriedt said raising awareness around the challenges and experiences of young refugees during Refugee Week would be the focus of Living in Between.

“Living in Between is a live presentation of personal stories from resilient and inspiring young people,” Cr Wriedt said.

“By sharing their stories with our community, they hope to raise awareness and understanding by providing insight into their journey as a refugee, adjusting to a new culture and creating new lives.

“Living in Between will provide a great opportunity for the community to better understand what many refugees go through.

“I really encourage people to come along and support these brave young people and learn more about the diverse communities now living in Tasmania.”

As part of Refugee Week 2023, the Living in Between presentation will be held at the Kingston Community Hub on Thursday 22 June at 6pm.

Tickets are $5.

The event is possible thanks to Students Against Racism and A Fairer World.

All are welcome.
