New Play Equipment for Dru Point

New play equipment has been installed for everyone to enjoy at Dru Point Bicentennial Park in Margate.

Mayor, Paula Wriedt said the playground now has a new double flying fox, netting hammock swing and Orbit rope climbing frame.

“This park is very well loved by our community and I’m really pleased that we have been able to update the equipment to better suit creative play now and into the future,” Cr Wriedt said.

“The Dru Point Masterplan pointed out that some of the equipment in the park was outdated and needed to be more challenging for older children.

“The new double flying fox and rope climbing structure replaces the old Teenrager equipment and will be popular for the older children using the park.

“The rope climbing area has smooth rubber soft fall with connection to the existing DDA path network and provides more inclusive access play opportunities.

“Future works will include extending the pathway networks and upgrading the tennis court area for community use.”
