Kingborough Council is committed to encouraging an active and healthy community, with vibrant, clean local areas that support social, recreational opportunities for everyone.
Kingborough Mayor, Paula Wriedt said to better understand and address the needs of our communities in relation to sport and recreational pursuits, Council had formed a temporary Sport and Recreation Reference Group with members of the community and Councillors.
“This group has helped to shape an engagement program to progress Council’s Sport and Recreation Strategy,” Cr Wriedt said.
“We want to be able to address the community’s future sport and recreational requirements, see what services need updating and what we need to plan for in the future.
“A community survey has been developed by the Reference group which will be circulated throughout the municipality to better determine what facilities need to be improved and planned for.
“The results of the survey will inform the new updated Kingborough Sport and Recreation Facilities Strategy.”
