Kingborough Council Mayor, Paula Wriedt is inviting volunteers to participate in a celebration on World Gratitude Day, Thursday 21 September 2023.
“Council is hosting a presentation/workshop by author, award-winning educator and researcher Dr Kerry Howells, on empowering volunteers to receive gratitude,” Cr Wriedt said.
“Volunteers are an integral part of our community and this event aims to celebrate their contribution to our community.
“Across Tasmania, there are nearly 300,000 volunteers over the age of 15, contributing to our community and way of life.
“Kingborough Council supports a Volunteer Program which provides nearly 4000 hours of assistance to help people remain living in their own homes for longer.
“This event will be held at the Twin Ovals Reception Centre in Kingston from 10 am to 12 pm, with light refreshments provided.
“We only have 100 spaces available so please register on the link below.
“All volunteers from Kingborough sporting clubs, gardening groups, food relief organisations, SES/Fire and Ambulance, community support groups, men’s sheds, community gardens and neighbourhood can register.
“Two people from every Kingborough volunteer organisation are encouraged to attend.
