Dose of Nature selected as finalist in Tasmanian Awards

Kingborough Council’s Dose of Nature program has been selected as a finalist in the 2025 Tasmanian Community Achievement Awards.
Mayor Paula Wriedt said the innovative program is a collaboration between Council staff and health practitioners.
“The Dose of Nature program takes participants through guided gentle walks in our beautiful, local reserves,” Cr Wriedt said.
“By spending time in nature, the program supports both physical and mental wellbeing.
“It provides gentle exercise and social connection, helping to reduce loneliness and support preventative health.
“This nomination is great acknowledgement of the work of our Council staff who are passionate about connecting our local community to our natural areas.
“We’re proud to be recognised in the Healthy Tasmania Health and Wellbeing category,” Cr Wriedt said.
The winners will to be announced at the Gala Presentation on Saturday, 4 October 2025.
