Closure date extended for Dog Areas and Mountain Bike Park

Please note:
Council has negotiated an extension with contractors at the Kingborough Sports Precinct, delaying the closure of several facilities.

The Kingston View off-lead dog area (including the designated greyhound area), Mountain Bike Park, pump track and Southern Obedience Club training area will now close on Monday, 22 June 2026.

This extension helps minimise the time between the closure of the existing dog areas and the opening of the new facility.

Kingston View off-lead dog area

Council is progressing plans to relocate the Kingston View Drive off-lead dog exercise area to Maddocks Road. The Development Application has been publicly advertised and will be considered at the 1 June Council Meeting.

Kingborough Mountain Bike Park and Pump Track

Once construction of the AFL High Performance Centre is complete, the Mountain Bike Park and pump track will be rebuilt with similar facilities. To support the community in the interim, a temporary pump track will be installed at Kingston Park later this year. This track will then be relocated to another site in Kingborough once the new Mountain Bike Park is complete.

Southern Obedience Club
Council is continuing to work with the Southern Obedience Club to identify a suitable new location.
