Resurfacing complete on Pelverata Road, Sandfly

The final seal on the recently constructed section of Pelverata Road at Sandfly has been completed.

Acting Mayor Christian Street said Council has been progressively upgrading sections of Pelverata Road to improve safety, reliability and driving conditions.

“The recently completed works at the Sandfly end of Pelverata Road form part of Council’s ongoing investment in maintaining and improving Kingborough’s road network,” Cr Street said.

“These upgrades are particularly important in rural areas where weather and traffic conditions can accelerate wear and tear.

“The reconstruction covered 200m of road, involved extensive geotechnical investigations, service relocations and road realignment to address the previous land slip.

“Kerbing and drainage improvements were also incorporated to reduce future land slip risk.

“This cost of the project was approximately $410,000.

“Combined with the Kaoota end of Pelverata Road, which was completed in 2025, these upgrades deliver a smoother and more durable road surface,” said Cr Street.
