Kingborough Council has been recognised for its commitment to high-quality sporting facilities, winning the Excellence in Sports Turf Management award from the state’s turf industry association.
Acting Mayor Christian Street said the award highlights the outstanding work of Council’s sports ground maintenance teams in delivering high standard and well-presented playing surfaces for the community.
“The Tasmanian award places Kingborough Council among the top-performing organisations nationally,” said Cr Street.
“ All state winners are nominated for the national title, with the winner to be announced at the conference awards night on 22 June.
“The Australian Sports Turf Management Conference will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre with more than 800 delegates from Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Rim.
“Kingborough Council’s recognition reflects its ongoing investment in maintaining quality sporting infrastructure that supports local clubs, promotes participation and enhances the overall community experience,” said Cr Street.
