Installing stormwater infrastructure – 24 June 26

2 June 2026 – Road construction works have recently commenced at Wyburton Place in Margate, with Clare Street construction to follow.

Acting Mayor Christian Street said the upgrades would improve safety for local residents, by converting existing gravel roads into safer, sealed roads.

“This project includes sealing the roads, along with the installation of kerb and guttering, concrete footpaths and improved stormwater infrastructure,” Cr Street said

“Local residents have been asking for these upgrades for many years, and it’s great to see work now underway.

“The construction is expected to take around five months, and once complete will reduce ongoing maintenance,” Cr Street said.

This project is being delivered with funding assistance from the Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery program.
