The temporary barriers on the Southern Outlet near Browns Road will be removed on Sunday, 19 July.
Acting Mayor Christian Street said while this was happening traffic wouldn’t be able to use the Huon Highway roundabout while work is underway.
“Road users travelling to Kingston or the Huon Valley will need to detour to the Summerleas Road roundabout (KFC/McDonalds) on Sunday, 19 July.
“The work will begin early Sunday morning and is expected to be completed mid-afternoon.
“Following the removal, both the Kingston and Huonville lanes to the Huon Highway roundabout will reopen.
“The slip lane from Southern Outlet to Browns Road will be closed for one week to carry out the final reinstatement work and kerbing.
“Bus services to Firthside will experience some disruptions.
“The updated bus information can be found on the Tasmanian Transport website, with a link also on Council’s Browns Road webpage, which will provide updates on the project as it progresses.
“Thank you to the community for your patience while these essential works are carried out,” Cr Street said.
