Kingborough residents can now enjoy an upgraded workout experience at the Kingborough Fitness Centre, with a range of new fitness equipment installed as part of an ongoing lease arrangement.
Acting Mayor Christian Street said the new equipment included cross trainers, a stair climber and additional spin bikes, which would help to meet a growing demand for fitness services at the Kingborough Sports Centre.
“The extra spin bikes will allow more people to participate in popular group fitness classes, which have regularly reached full capacity,” Cr Street said.
“Council is committed to supporting active and healthy lifestyles through a range of community facilities, programs and services that encourage people of all ages and abilities to stay active and connected.
“The modern equipment would help ensure the Fitness Centre continues to provide a modern and accessible environment for members and visitors.
“Recreation and sporting facilities play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our community.
“This equipment upgrade provides more opportunities for residents to participate in physical activity and helps ensure our Fitness Centre can continue to meet the needs of a growing community,” Cr Street said.
The new equipment also features larger digital screens and wireless phone charging capabilities.
The Kingborough Fitness Centre is located within the Kingborough Sports Centre 10 Kingston View Drive.
