Kingborough Arts Survey

Kingborough Council is inviting residents to have their say on art in the municipality, with a new community consultation survey now open.
Acting Mayor Christian Street said the survey will help inform Council’s Community Services Strategy and ensure it reflects the interests, aspirations and needs of the Kingborough community.
“Art plays an important role in bringing people together, celebrating creativity and enriching community life,” Cr Street said.
“Kingborough is home to a vibrant and diverse arts community, and we want to better understand how people engage with arts activities and what opportunities they would like to see in the future.
“This survey will help identify what is working well, where there may be gaps, and how Council can support arts and creative opportunities that are accessible, meaningful and valued by the community.
“Community input is essential to shaping a strategy that delivers real outcomes.
“We’re keen to hear from artists, arts organisations, participants and residents who enjoy art, as well as those who may face barriers to getting involved.
“This feedback will help guide Council’s future planning, programs and advocacy, ensuring art continues to thrive in Kingborough.
“Whether you regularly attend events, create art yourself, or simply value the role arts play in our community, I encourage you to take a few minutes to have your say,” Cr Street said.
The survey’s launch coincides with the opening of the Kingborough Art Prize Exhibition & Sale being held at the Kingborough Community Hub on Thursday 17, September, with the official opening event on Friday, 18 September from 5pm.
The survey is available online here https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/837WST8
Paper copies are available from the Kingborough Council Civic Centre, Kingborough Community Hub and local community centres.
The Kingborough Arts Survey closes on Friday, 23 October 2026.
