Works to construct a new footpath along the Esplanade in Snug between the Channel Highway and Cutana Parade have now been completed, delivering an important improvement to pedestrian safety and accessibility.

The project has transformed a missing link in Snug’s footpath network, with the work including a new concrete footpath, upgraded stormwater infrastructure, new retaining walls, kerb and gutter.
Acting Mayor Christian Street said Council had also taken the opportunity to upgrade the existing footpath linking the Esplanade to the Channel Highway.
“The extension will complete an important pedestrian link, providing a more continuous and accessible connection between the Esplanade and the Channel Highway,” Cr Street said.
Local resident Nigel said the crew was doing a great job and he was really pleased with the results. “I have no complaints at all and appreciate the work they’re putting in to improve the area.”
The additional works are expected to be completed at the end of September.
