Dying to Know about Voluntary Assisted Dying
August 11 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
FREE
Dying to Know Day is a national campaign to inspire you to begin to prepare for the inevitable, not with fear, but with purpose, love, and a sense of legacy. The theme is, Nobody Knows ‘The secret I’m glad I shared’. It is a call out to share your final wishes.
As part of Dying to Know Day, this informative community session will explore Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) in Tasmania, providing clear and practical information about eligibility, the assessment process, legislative safeguards, and available support services.
Presenters include the Clinical Lead for Voluntary Assisted Dying Tasmania, the senior nursing lead of the VAD Navigation Service, and one of the VAD Pharmacy Managers, who will share their expertise and insights into how the service operates and supports people considering end-of-life options.
The session aims to increase understanding, answer common questions, and encourage informed conversations about choice, autonomy, and compassionate care at the end of life.
