Learn the Art of Japanese Drumming – Taiko Workshop

Come along and have a go!
Experience the power and rhythm of Taiko drumming, a traditional Japanese art form that’s energetic, expressive, and incredibly fun!
Whether you’re looking to try something new, relieve stress, or just enjoy making music with others – this session is for you.
No musical experience needed!
You don’t need to read music or have played an instrument before. Just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to move!
What to expect:
- Learn taiko techniques and rhythms with bachi (wooden sticks)
- A fun, active, and inclusive environment
- Enjoi the ‘ki-energy’ and body movements
What to bring:
- Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing
- A water bottle
- A readiness to get moving and make some noise!
This workshop is proudly supported by the Tasmanian Government as part of the “Kingborough Together” initiative, encouraging community members from all backgrounds to share their unique cultural traditions and experiences with the Kingborough community.
