Yarn Bomb Kingston – a community public art project

Come along and participate in our community craft activity, Yarn Bomb Kingston!

About this event

Participants in the free workshops will contribute towards a Giant Daisy Chain public art piece that will be installed along the path on Beach Road, towards Kingston beach.

The intended installation date is the 12 September – Mindfulness Day 2022. We will celebrate with a community BBQ in time for Mental Health Week.

 

The FREE workshop dates:

June 12 – Beginner’s Crochet – Come along and participate in our community craft activity, Yarn bomb Kingston! This class will be for beginner crocheters to start the stem of a huge daisy chain using green colours, which will also feature multi-coloured flowers and insects.

July 24 – Intermediate Crochet – This class will focus on the crocheted flowers , i.e. daisies, that will adorn the huge daisy chain public artwork. Join in the Yarn bomb Kingston community craft event! We will use many colours, any colour that takes your fancy!

August 21 – All levels – Open Group – Experienced and beginner’s knitters or crocheters welcome to attend and craft either the stem, flowers or the bugs – lady bugs, butterflies, bees – that will also feature on this amazing Yarn bomb.
