We want to create an inclusive and collaborative atmosphere that encourages all our residents to engage in life in this beautiful area.
Council coordinates an active volunteer program, provides grants for not-for-profit organisations to benefit the community, and organises a range of events for people of all ages in Kingborough.
These events include our annual Love Living Locally festival in March and Kingborough Awards for volunteers in January. Other events include information days on Positive Ageing, youth festivals and various arts and culture awards.
Council’s Community Development Team coordinates a monthly program, Learning for Life, which includes gardening and cooking workshops, health and fitness activities and information sessions. The program incorporates awareness days and weeks such as Mental Health Week in October and many events are held in partnership with local community groups and organisations.
