Shape the Future of Arts in Kingborough
Kingborough Council is developing a Community Services Strategy 2027–2032, following a recommendation endorsed at the Council meeting on 16 February 2026.
The new strategy will help guide how services and programs are planned and delivered in the future.
Who is this engagement for?
This engagement is aimed at local artists, performers, creative practitioners, and community members who engage with the arts in Kingborough. Feedback will help Council better understand local needs, aspirations and opportunities within the arts sector, and inform future planning, programs and partnerships that support a vibrant and inclusive creative community.
Why your input matters
Community input is a core part of the development of the Community Services Strategy. Your feedback will help Council:
- Understand how people participate in and experience arts activities
- Identify strengths, challenges and opportunities within the local arts sector
- Inform future priorities, programs, initiatives and partnerships
- Improve access to arts opportunities across the municipality
- Ensure future planning reflects the diverse perspectives, needs and aspirations of our community

People aged 12 and over are invited to complete an online survey to share their experiences, ideas and priorities. Whether you’re a young person, practising artist, volunteer, arts supporter, or simply someone who enjoys arts activities, we encourage you to complete the survey and share your views.

Direct engagement
In addition to the survey, Community Development staff will engage directly with selected individuals and groups within the community to ensure a broad range of perspectives are heard.
The survey will be open from September 10 to October 23, 2026.
What happens next?
The outcomes of this engagement will help inform the broader Community Services Strategy 2027–2032. Findings from the consultation will be presented at a future Council meeting.
