This engagement is now closed. We like to thank the community for their feedback and contribution to the consultation.

The Sport and Recreation Strategy 2024 was approved at the 18 March 2024 Council meeting.

The Sports and Recreation Strategy 2024 identified what the gaps were in our sporting and recreation facilities and the barriers stopping people from actively participating in these activities. The strategy was developed off the back of a highly successful community engagement, which involved over 1000 community participants. Sports and Recreation Engagement Report

Sport and Recreation Reference Group*

To better understand and address the needs of our communities in relation to sport and recreational pursuits, Council formed a temporary Sport and Recreation Reference Group with members of the community and Councillors.  This Reference Group developed a survey circulated through Council’s social media pages, website and through local papers.  It was also made available in hard copy at the Civic Centre.  The engagement survey closed on 22 September 2023.
