Kingborough Council is committed to encouraging an active and healthy community, with vibrant, clean local areas that support social, recreational opportunities for everyone.
Sport and Recreation Reference Group
To better understand and address the needs of our communities in relation to sport and recreational pursuits, Council has formed a temporary Sport and Recreation Reference Group with members of the community and Councillors.
This group will help shape Council’s engagement with the community, enabling Council to develop a Sport and Recreation Strategy in the near future.
Kingborough Sport and Recreation Facilities Strategy
In 2013, the Kingborough Sport and Recreation Facilities Strategy was prepared, with a specific focus on the condition, use and improvement of Council owned sport and recreation facilities. The document had a 10-year life span and was intended for review and updating in 2023.
Engagement Participation
To better understand the sport and recreational needs of the community, including barriers to participation and opportunities for improved service delivery, the Reference Group has developed a survey. (see link below)
The survey will be circulated through Council’s social media pages, website and through local papers. It will also be available in hard copy at the Civic Centre.
The results of the survey will inform the new updated Kingborough Sport and Recreation Facilities Strategy.
Kingborough Sport and Recreation Facilities Strategy Community Survey 2023
The engagement survey will close on 22 September.
