Kingborough Council began raising community awareness about death literacy in 2022 through its first End of Life Expo. Since then, Council has supported community talks, education sessions and the regular Kingston Death Café. The Death Literacy Index (DLI) survey helps measure how prepared people feel to navigate healthcare, palliative care and bereavement support. The results will help inform future programs and education programs, while also allowing Kingborough to compare its results with other communities across Australia.
