With grant funding from the Commonwealth Government and support from Kingborough Council, the Plastic Free Places program will offer free assistance to our local businesses as part of a national effort to combat plastic pollution.
Food retailers; like cafes, bars, restaurants, kiosks & vans are eligible for the program. The focus will be on single-use takeaway items where sustainable practices & alternative products already exist.
Globally the packaging industry is changing very fast, which is fantastic for our communities and the planet, but many local businesses are not yet fully prepared. This program will provide free on- ground support with Plastic Free Places Tasmania – a Boomerang Alliance initiative.
