Waste Avoidance & Education

Kingborough Council is committed to reducing the amount of waste that is sent to landfill, increasing recycling rates, lowering emissions and energy usage, developing a sustainable community and reducing the environmental impacts of littering and illegal dumping.

Working with the community and alongside other organisations, Kingborough Council through Kingborough Waste Services has created several programs and projects to actualise these goals.

Plastic Free Places Kingborough

This program will offer free assistance to our local businesses to move away from single-use takeaway items where sustainable practices & alternative products already exist.

No Waste Nothing

Stormwater to Sea

Circular Economy Platform - Aspire

Schools & Waste Education

Kingborough Waste Services offers an informative Waste Education program for local schools and community groups.

The Council will be reporting every two months on its waste diversion results.
