The one-way trial proposed within the Kingston Beach precinct will start from Wednesday, 4 April 2018.
Traffic flow will be one way on Osborne Esplanade from Beach Road travelling north and continuing into Balmoral Road, ending at Windsor Street. All other streets will remain two way. Appropriate signage will be put in place to direct traffic.
The trial will be conducted for a three-month period, and will be evaluated following traffic impact assessments, as well as through community feedback via an online survey. The survey will also be available in hard copy at the Civic Centre in Kingston.
The one-way proposal was put forward by the Kingston Beach Community Association, due to concerns about traffic speed and public safety in the precinct. Council encourages residents and visitors to give us feedback by completing the survey, which can be accessed via Council’s Our Say page.
