WATER QUALITY UPDATE AND HEAT SAFETY

All of our beaches have again passed their water quality samples.

Make sure you enjoy our waters safely and remember to be heat safe during these high temperatures.

Here are some simple things to do when the weather gets hot:

💦 Stay hydrated – drink water even if you don’t feel thirsty and avoid sugary drinks.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Check on others – check on relatives and friends who might be at risk.
👕 Clothing – wear lightweight, comfortable clothes. (Tip: light colours reflect the heat)
😎 Minimise sun – Keep out of the sun and avoid outdoor activities in the heat of the day. If you do go outside make sure you Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek and Slide.
🏠 Prepare your house – set your fan or air-conditioner to cool, or open doors and windows where safe to do so. Close blinds and curtains to keep heat out during the day.
🐶 Pets – make sure your pets are out of the sun and have plenty of cool water to drink.
👩‍⚕️ See medical advice – heat-related illness can be life-threatening.

In an emergency, call 000 for help. For non-urgent medical assistance, call healthdirect Australia on 1800 022 222 or call your GP.
