Kingborough’s Got Talent

Kingborough is holding it’s very first Youth Talent Show for young people during Youth Week Tasmania on Saturday 29 April 2023.

Kingborough Mayor, Paula Wriedt said the talent show was open to young people aged 12 to 18 years who live in Kingborough.

“This year’s theme for Youth Week is ‘Acceptance: Be Bold, Be You’,” Cr Wriedt said.

“We are encouraging our young residents to participate in the show and share their talents with everyone.

“There will be some great prizes on offer, including first prize of $1,000 awarded in the winner’s choice of gift vouchers.

“We know this will be a great incentive for our young people to put together a memorable performance for the whole community to enjoy.

“Council is also encouraging any young person who would like to be involved in the organisational side of the talent show to reach out to our staff.

“There will be opportunities for young people to be involved in backstage roles or assisting with ticket sales.

“Special guest MC on the night will be John X and the show will be judged by a panel made up of local celebrities.

Auditions for Kingborough’s Got Talent will be held after school on Thursday 16 March at West Winds Community Centre and on Wednesday 22 March at the Kingborough Community Hub.

The main talent show will be held on 29 April at the Kingston High Performing Arts Centre, to kick off Youth Week 2023.
