Aged Care Talks at the Hub

Over the next few months Kingborough Council will host a series of free talks at the Kingborough Community Hub focused on aged care.

Kingborough Mayor, Paula Wriedt said the aged care talks would feature a range of guest speakers to provide information on the different aspects of aged care.

“These are wonderful opportunities for our community to hear from people working in the aged sector,” Cr Wriedt said.

“During these sessions, practical advice and insights will be offered for people who are planning for their own future or supporting a loved one.”

The free aged care talks dates include:
• Tuesday, 29 July. CEO of Christian Homes Tasmania will discuss My Aged Care, home care packages, residential aged care and the services and supports that are available in Kingborough.
• Tuesday, 2 September. A representative from Services Australia will talk about the process for registering with My Aged Care and entering the aged care system. There will also be information on accessing Centrelink and the support it provides.
• Wednesday, 22 October. A home care intake officer from ‘Respect’ will focus on various aspects of the ageing process, including physical, emotional, and social changes, as well as practical insights into navigating these changes.
