The Waste Transfer Station at Barretta has partially reopened pending further works.
Repairs on the building are still ongoing which may cause some further disruptions.
Disruptions will be kept to a minimum as much as possible. Please follow Kingborough Council’s social media and website for updates.

The waste transfer station at the Barretta Waste and Recycling Centre remains temporarily closed while assessments and repair work are undertaken to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
The waste transfer station is expected to reopen once the structural and safety assessments allow.
Please note: That the green waste, scrap metal, recycling drop-off areas, and the Re-Use Shop remain open and are operating as normal for the public. Follow Kingborough Council’s social media and website for updates.

The waste transfer station at the Barretta Waste and Recycling Centre remains temporarily closed while assessments and repair work are undertaken to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Based on the findings and recommendations of the Surveyor and Engineer reports, the closure is expected to continue until at least the morning of Saturday, 26 July. However, this timeline may be extended if necessary.
Please note that the green waste, scrap metal, recycling drop-off areas, and the Re-Use Shop remain open and are operating as normal for the public.
