Community Engagement open for Kingborough Council’s Strategic Plan

Kingborough Council is inviting all community members to have their say on the draft Strategic Plan, which will guide Council’s work over the next 10 years.

Mayor Paula Wriedt said the draft Plan reflects a collaborative effort, shaped by Councillors, staff and guided by the community’s feedback from past engagements.

“Council wants to hear from the community to make sure the Plan matches what people care about and want for the future,” Cr Wriedt said.

“At the heart of the draft Strategic Plan are Vision and Purpose, which have been retained from the previous Plan due to their continued relevance and alignment with community feedback.

“The Plan is built on five key values that define how Council will operate: Accountability, Collaboration, Equity, Innovation and Sustainability.

“These values have been refined based on input from Councillors, staff, and the community.

“The Plan sets out the organisational principles which guide Council’s priorities over the next decade and underpin our operational delivery plans with available resources and budgets.

“Council is seeking community feedback to ensure the Plan reflects what matters most to people now and into the future.

“Have your say and be part of planning Kingborough’s future,” Cr Wriedt said.

This engagement is part of Council’s statutory obligation under the Local Government Act 1993 which requires all Tasmanian councils to prepare a Strategic Plan and an Annual Plan that outlines how the Strategic Plan’s goals and objectives will be delivered.

To have your say, visit Council’s website to complete the survey which can be found on the Community Engagement page.
