Kingborough Council welcomed the approval of the development application for the new Training and Administration Centre for the Tasmania Devils Football Club.
Acting Mayor Clare Glade-Wright said the decision represented an exciting step forward for the Kingborough.
“This development marks a significant milestone for Kingborough, with the new facility projected to contribute around $55 million to the local economy each year,” Cr Glade-Wright said.
“Council looks forward to working closely with the Tasmania Devils Football Club and our local sporting groups as the project progresses, ensuring the precinct remains welcoming, inclusive, and accessible for all.”
Kingborough Council will continue to keep the community updated as works commence and key project milestones are reached.
The Training and Administration Centre, also known as the AFL High Performance Centre, will be funded by the State Government and the AFL.
