Kingborough Council has received an extension from the Tasmanian Planning Commission for the completion of planning scheme reviews.
Mayor Paula Wriedt said following discussions with the independent consultants engaged to review Landscape Conservation Zoning (LCZ) in the draft Local Provisions Schedule, and reviews of Specific Area Plans (SAPs) at Bruny Island, Blackmans Bay Bluff and Bonnet Hill, it was determined more time would be required than was initially allowed.
“Council requested extensions from the Commission, which was granted, until 17 March for the LCZ review and until 8 April for the SAP reviews,” Cr Wriedt said.
“The extension will particularly assist with the reviews of the SAPs, which require engagement and a survey with residents of those areas.
“The reviews are progressing well, and a Councillor workshop has been held to provide an update and seek feedback.
“Council will provide further updates once the review is completed,” Cr Wriedt said.
