Kingborough Council is inviting residents aged 60 and over to help shape the future of positive ageing, with a new community consultation survey now open.
Acting Mayor Christian Street said the survey will inform Council’s updated Community Services Strategy and ensure it reflects the current and emerging needs of older residents across the municipality.
“Council’s current strategy identified key priorities such as communication, transport, health, social connection, infrastructure and accommodation through extensive community consultation,” Cr Street said.
“This survey will build on that work by capturing how those needs are evolving over time.
“Community input is essential to shaping a strategy that delivers real outcomes.
“With a growing number of older residents in Kingborough, it’s important that we plan ahead and get it right.
“This is an opportunity for people to tell us what matters most to them and what would make a meaningful difference in their day-to-day lives.
“Positive ageing isn’t just about services, it’s about ensuring people feel connected, respected and supported within their community.
“We’re keen to understand both the strengths of our community and where there may be gaps or barriers.
“This feedback will guide Council’s future planning, programs and advocacy.
“If you’re 60 or over and living in Kingborough, I encourage you to take a few minutes to have your say,” Cr Street said.

Paper copies are available from the Kingborough Council Civic Centre and Kingborough Community Hub.
The Positive Ageing survey closes on Monday, 10 August 2026.
