Winter School Holiday Program

Kingborough Council’s winter school holiday program is packed with exciting activities to keep young people active and engaged.

Acting Mayor Christian Street said the program features a visit to the brand-new aerial adventure park, TreeClimb at The Lea.

“Kingborough’s young people can test their skills on thrilling obstacles and ziplines at TreeClimb, followed by a trip to Village Cinemas to enjoy a new release film,” Cr Street said.

“To ensure this activity is accessible to young people across the municipality, transport will be provided, with pick-up and drop-off at bus stops in Kingston, Blackmans Bay, Margate, Snug, Kettering and Woodbridge.

“A new customer service and workplace readiness course is also on offer, delivered by the Tasmanian Hospitality and Tourism Academy for young people aged 14 to 20.

“This hands-on course helps participants build confidence and develop practical, job-ready skills for the workplace, with participants receiving a certificate of completion to strengthen their CV and support future employment opportunities.

“Other activities include a barista bootcamp, a come-and-try pickleball session at the Kingborough Sports Centre, and a hands-on sushi and miso soup workshop at the Kingborough Community Hub.

“The program provides valuable opportunities for young people to try new experiences, build skills, connect with others, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment,” Cr Street said.
