Kingborough Council’s Winter School Holiday Program has wrapped up after delivering a range of engaging activities that were enjoyed by young people from across the municipality.
Acting Mayor Christian Street said the program provided valuable opportunities for participants to learn new skills, make connections and try something different during the school break.
“The winter program saw young people take part in a variety of activities, including an aerial adventure at TreeClimb, a customer service and workplace readiness course, barista training, pickleball and a sushi-making workshop,” Cr Street said.

“It was fantastic to see so many young people getting involved, building confidence, developing practical skills and connecting with others in a safe and supportive environment.
“Programs like these are an important part of Council’s ongoing commitment to supporting young people.
“They provide opportunities to build friendships, explore interests, develop life and employment skills, and stay active and engaged within the community.
“The positive response to the winter program highlights the value of creating accessible and affordable opportunities for young people to learn, socialise and have fun close to home.”

Cr Street said Council’s youth activities continue throughout the year, with bookings now open for the Term 3 Youth Program.
“The Term 3 program features a range of creative, educational and social activities, providing even more opportunities for young people to get involved, meet new people and learn new skills,” he said.
