Stage and Screen Film Festival

Join us for 6 incredible films over 3 days at the Kingborough Community Hub.
Proudly presented in partnership with Kingborough Council, the festival brings together outstanding cinema, storytelling, and live performance for a truly unique cultural experience.
Friday, 3 October Opening Night
🎬 A Boy Called Sailboat 6pm
Opening the festival with a one-night-only screening accompanied by the extraordinary Grigoryan Brothers, performing their movie score live in the cinema. The evening will conclude with a special Q&A with the film’s writer-director Cameron Nugent offering a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into this heartfelt story.
Doors open at 6pm. Come early and enjoy a light dinner (menu coming soon) before the film and screening and live performance begins at 6:45pm.
A licensed bar will be operating on the night, and both food and drinks can only be purchased inside the venue.

Join us for a charming 9 min short film Tasmania the Wonderland — a 1935 travelogue through Hobart and beyond — before the newly restored Aussie classic Storm Boy.
Digitally restored by the NFSA, Storm Boy is as stunning today as ever. A timeless story starring Greg Rowe and David Gulpilil.
