Creative Ageing

Tuesday Talk

We are increasingly made aware of the ‘ageing of Tasmania’ with statistics and stories being discussed in a way that often hints at the ageing population being a burden on our society and our health care systems.

The ‘creative ageing movement’ is countering those attitudes by focusing attention on the potential of older people not their problems.  It values not only the immense skills and talents of the older population but also the incredible benefits creativity brings to the wider community of people who identify as being aged.

Come along and share your thoughts, creative interests (feel free to bring along a sample of your creativity) and hear about the benefits of ‘creative ageing’.

Jacquie Maginnis Health Promotion Coordinator from the Tasmanian Health Service will be providing this presentation.

  • Tuesday 3 September 10.30 am – 12 pm
  • Kingston Library Meeting Room.
  • The session is free and morning tea is provided.
