Kingston Eat Local Competition – 13 lucky winners have been drawn and notified

The KINGSTON EAT LOCAL Competition closed on Sunday 28 May, with 13 lucky winners drawn at the Kingborough Civic Centre at 3pm Monday 29 May.

There were thousands of entries!

Kingborough Council was running a competition on 5 April – 28 May 2023 to encourage everyone to eat and shop local at the restaurants, takeaways and businesses along the closed section of Channel Highway.

To encourage more people to eat and shop locally whilst the Channel Highway is being upgraded Council launched a competition.

How you were able to Participate:

All you had to do:

  • Shop at one or more of the businesses listed below,
  • Put your name and phone number on the back of a receipt and pop it into the specially marked boxes.
  • We also encouraged you to post a photo of your purchase and tag the business on Facebook with the hashtag #KingstonEatLocalCompetition.

Competition Timeline:

Started at 6am on Wednesday 5 April and ended at 11pm on Sunday 28 May 2023.

You could enter as many times as you like.

What Could you Win:

Vouchers from a range of businesses along the closed section of Channel Highway:

  • 4 x prizes consisting of $550 worth of vouchers
  • 9 x prizes consisting of $50 vouchers

Eligibility:

Open to individuals aged 18 years or over.

Employees and families of employees were excluded from entering the competition.

Number of permitted entries per person was 1 receipt per visit.

When Winners Announced

13 winners were drawn at the Kingborough Civic Centre on Monday 29 May at 3pm and announced on Council’s social media pages and website within five days of the draw.

Terms and conditions:

Competition starts at 6am on 4/4/23 and ends at 11pm on 28/5/23. By entering the competition, you agree to be involved in the publicity of the competition by including sharing your name and image. The promoter has no responsibility to accept late, lost or misdirected entries. Four winners will be drawn at the Kingborough Civic Centre on Monday 29 May at 3pm and announced on council’s social media pages within 5 days of the draw. Total prize pool is valued at $2650. Each winner will receive an assortment of $550 or $50 of vouchers from the participating businesses. Winners will be contacted directly. If either of these prize winners are not able to be contacted within 14 days of the prize draw, an alternative winner will be drawn.
