Community Grants now open

Community organisations are being encouraged to apply for the latest round of funding available through Kingborough Council’s Community Grants Program.

Mayor Paula Wriedt said the program continues to be a vital source of support for many community groups with grants of up to $3,000 available in the annual grant round, and up to $1000 throughout the year in Quick Response grants.

“Each year, a wide range of inspiring projects receive funding,” Cr Wriedt said.

“It’s always a pleasure to support the incredible work of our community groups.

” In 2024/25, 26 organisations received funding, including Pickleball Tasmania, Friends of Longley Area Group, South Channel Residents and Ratepayers Association, the Indian Festivals Association of Tasmania, The Channel Museum, Variety the Children’s Charity and many more.

“Once the main round closes, the Quick Response Grants will open to help groups take advantage of unexpected opportunities that arise throughout the year until the funds are expended,” Cr Wriedt said.

Applications for the current Community Grants round are open until Friday, 29 August 2025.
