Information Technology Officer (Network and Security) (000019)

About This Position

An exciting and demanding technology opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and adaptable individual to join the Kingborough Council’s Information Technology team.

Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the provisioning, deployment, configuration and administration of network, security and unified communications resources across Council’s information and communication technology environments, as well as providing more generalised ICT support and special projects.

You will have experience in administering a diverse network and enterprise security environment, including a strong understanding of the application of cybersecurity across multiple platforms. You will also have demonstrated project management skills and well developed communication and research skills. A relevant tertiary qualification would be well regarded.

The role is full-time and offers a  base salary is in the range of $81,772 to  $85,944 per annum, plus 12.5% employer superannuation.

  1. A relevant degree or qualification relevant to the position, together with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience (minimum 3 years), education and/or training.
  2. Experience in managing: network and firewall devices; VPN; Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems; Security Information and Event Management systems; and endpoint security systems including web, email, edge and cloud.
  3. Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities.
  4. Understanding of patch management testing and deployment, and associated business impacts.

Council is seeking two team members to join its Rural Roads Unit in undertaking a range of general labouring duties involving road works, drainage, concreting and asphalting.

Information Management Officer (000680)

About This Position

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the daily activities of Council’s information and records management unit.  The unit is responsible for supporting Council to meet its regulatory requirements for record-keeping, storage and records management.

You will contribute to the facilitation of an effective records management system, ensuring that Council’s records are secure, appropriately maintained and readily accessible.

You must have previous experience in an information and records management environment, as well as competent computer and data entry skills and experience in electronic document management systems.   Knowledge of archiving practices would be well regarded.

The role is part-time, 24 hours per week and the salary will be based on a pro-rata equivalent of $56,287 to $60,820 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

The Development Engineering Officer is responsible for the assessment of engineering matters related to development applications for subdivision, building and development permits. Duties include appraising engineering drawings, assessing engineering consent for sealed plans approval, ensuring compliance with Council’s conditions of planning approval and the approved construction drawings and specifications.

You may be a new graduate starting your engineering career or someone looking for a change where you can grow your civil engineering experience. The role is full-time and the base salary is in the range of $62,963 – $74,790 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
