Customer Service Officer (000035)

About This Position

The Customer Service Officer is the first point of contact for all council related enquiries, ensuring an effective frontline service to our customers and clients.

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a customer service environment, together with a positive and flexible approach to work. You should also possess sound interpersonal and communication skills, as well as competent computer skills. Previous cash handling experience would be well regarded.

The position is on-going part-time (32 hours per week), with a pro-rata salary based on the range of $56,287 to $57,700 per annum.

Essential

  1. Previous experience in customer service environment, with proven achievement of high quality results.
  2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to assist customers from all backgrounds.
  3. Enthusiasm and ability to work co-operatively as part of a team, but when necessary also work independently without direct supervision.
  4. The ability to use initiative in resolving problems and to resolve complaints as appropriate.
  5. Well-developed administrative skills and ability to plan, organise and prioritise a range of administrative tasks to well established guidelines.
  6. Competent keyboard skills using Microsoft Office products and the ability to use a range of specialist local government programs including Local Government Information System, GIS, CRM and Electronic Document Management systems.

Desirable

  1. Experience and knowledge in local government systems, procedures and activities.
  2. Cashiering experience and use and knowledge of computerised financial systems.

Senior Civil Designer (000071)

About This Position

Council is seeking to recruit a Senior Civil Designer to undertake a range of complex engineering investigations, survey, design and documentation services for Council’s capital works programs.

To be considered for the role, you must have a civil engineering qualification suitable for Associate membership of Engineers Australia. You will have extensive experience in preparing drawings and estimates for project documentation and skills in civil design software, specifically AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or MicroStation MX. The ability to coach and mentor other civil design staff is also essential.

Essential

  1. Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent suitable for Associate membership to Engineers Australia.
  2. Extensive experience in design, estimating and project preparation for local authority works.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of civil engineering design and construction standards and requirements.
  4. Demonstrated experience in the operation of civil design software, specifically AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or MicroStation MX.
  5. Ability to solve problems of a complex nature and undertake investigations and create design options.
  6. Competent negotiation and interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise and negotiate with a range of stakeholders including consultants, contractors, service providers, community members and Council clients/applicants.
  7. Understanding of risk management and Work Health and Safety issues, including ‘duty of care’ concepts relevant to a civil construction environment.
  8. Competent time management, planning and organisational skills.

Licences and Competencies

  1. Current driver’s licence.
  2. White Card (Working Safely in the Construction Industry)
  3. Traffic Control accreditation – control traffic with a stop/go bat and Implement a Traffic Management Plan.
  4. Confined spaces entry accreditation.

Desirable

  1. Ability to provide coaching and support to other less experienced civil designers.
