Planning Technical Officer (000649)

About This Position

The Kingborough Council is offering an opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and suitably experienced individual to join the Development Services team.

The main responsibilities of the position include assisting with public enquiries (on the telephone and counter), processing statutory planning and subdivision documents, assisting in the public notification process and providing administrative support to the team.

The successful applicant will have strong administrative and customer service experience as well as proficiency in MS Office applications.  Experience in a Local Government planning environment would be advantageous but a comprehensive training program will be provided.

The position is full time and offers a salary in the range of $56,287 – $60,820 per annum depending on skills and experience.

Essential:

  1. Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role and the ability to deliver excellent customer service to a range of diverse customers.
  2. An understanding of the principles and procedures involved in statutory planning or the ability to acquire this knowledge.

  4. Demonstrated ability to prepare well-structured correspondence and reports.
  5. Proficient in the Microsoft office suite and industry related software including GIS systems.

Licences:

  1. Current unrestricted motor vehicle driver’s licence.
  2. White Card, Working Safely in the Construction Industry, or the capacity to obtain this accreditation.

Desirable:

  1. A relevant qualification, e.g. Certificate IV in Business or currently undertaking a planning qualification or similar discipline.

Urban Design Officer (000375)

Council has a vacancy for an experienced Urban Design Officer. The position is responsible for providing urban, environmental and landscape design services for Council and community projects and programs.

You will require relevant tertiary qualifications together with a practical knowledge of urban design principles and application. Experience in policy and program development and community consultation is also highly desirable.

Team Leader Fitness Centre (000052)

About This Position

The Kingborough Sports Centre offers a wide range of recreational facilities including a well-equipped fitness centre, aerobics room, sports stadiums, squash courts and gymnastics facilities.

We are seeking an experienced and energetic Team Leader to coordinate the operations of the Fitness Centre. You will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Fitness Centre, including staff management, as well as driving a strong business and customer service culture. Applicants must have a current Certificate III / IV in Fitness and proven marketing and promotional skills in the fitness industry.

Further Details: The position is ongoing full time with a salary in the range of $68,356 – $73,797 per annum, plus 12.5% superannuation. You will be required to work rosters which include early mornings, evenings and public holiday shifts. Essential Skills and Experience:

  1. Experience working in a sporting facility environment, with proven achievement of high quality delivery of service and experience in the development of marketing and promotional activities.
  2. Sound knowledge of the needs of a range of Fitness Centre services and facilities and the development of participation programs and activities.
  3. Experience in leading a small team in the delivery of services in a Fitness Centre environment.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, positive attitude and high level customer service skills.
  5. Proven time management skills, including the ability to plan and prioritise work so as to achieve timely and accurate results, and to reschedule priorities when relevant.
  6. Efficient and accurate computer skills using Microsoft Office products, POS, client database programs and social media platforms.
  7. Sound understanding of risk management and work health and safety issues associated with the operations of sports and recreation facilities including general safety processes, food handling, first aid, fire safety and emergency procedures.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. A current Certificate level III/IV in Fitness and registration with Fitness Australia.
  2. A Working with Vulnerable People (child related activity) check and a satisfactory National Police check.
  3. A recognised First Aid Certificate.

Desirable:

  1. Knowledge of computer-based records management systems, bookings management and point of sale software.
  2. Vocational qualifications in the areas of sport and recreation or events management at the Diploma level.
