Seasonal Walk: Senior’s Spring Walk, Boronia Beach
September 15 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
FREE
Register now for the Spring Walk!
This seasonal walk is designed for Kingborough residents aged 60 and over who do not regularly engage in nature-based activities and would like the opportunity to do so in a welcoming and supportive environment. We hope to introduce you to new reserves and trails through this program and encourage new friendships and connections.
Join us for a guided coastal walk through scenic bushland to beautiful Boronia Beach. Enjoy sweeping views across the Derwent Estuary to the Iron Pot and Eastern Shore as the track winds through blue gums, she oaks and coastal vegetation.
Led by BJ from Kingborough Council’s Natural Areas and Biodiversity team, this is a gentle walk on a mostly flat, narrow gravel track. There will be regular stops to learn about the local flora and fauna while chatting to others in a friendly supportive environment.
- What to expect: Approximately 2 km return on a mostly flat, narrow gravel track. Some sections pass close to the cliff edge, and there are steps down to Boronia Beach with no handrail.
- Duration: Approximately 2-3 hours at a relaxed pace, including frequent stops to learn about local flora and fauna, plus a stop for a cuppa, snack and conversation.
- Map & parking: Details will be provided upon booking. Toilet facilities are available at Kingston Beach after the walk.
- What to bring: Sturdy shoes, water, walking sticks if helpful for stability, binoculars (optional), and a lightweight foldable chair if standing for extended periods is challenging.
