Tuesday Talks

As part of Council’s support for Positive Ageing a series of talks have been organised for the first Tuesday of the month from 10.30 am to 12 noon at Kingston LINC (Kingston Library). Talks cover topics relevant to the older residents of our community and are designed to provide information in an informal setting and allow for individual questions to be answered in a friendly environment.

Coming up:

  • 5 December, Aged Care Know How Program. This session offers a range of tools to help understand the ‘My Aged Care’ system. We will focus on supporting the choice to age at home and assist in navigating the help-at-home options.

Talks are free for seniors and those caring for older people. Morning tea is provided. Contact Council’s Community Development Officer for bookings and information on 6211 8170.

We manage the Manor Gardens Club in Kingston, which is one of the only Council operated respite services in Tasmania. The Club provides daytime support and social opportunities for aged and frail citizens, as well as people suffering memory loss. In doing so, it provides vital respite for devoted by busy families and carers.
