Margate Master Plan

This engagement is now closed.  Feedback from the public consultation will inform the development of a Margate Master Plan that will create a safer, more inviting Margate Main Street.

Along with on-site assessments and data analysis the project consultants will develop a Draft Master Plan, to be released to the public for comment.

The Master Plan will help meet the needs of residents, businesses, and visitors by designing a more vibrant and connected street for years to come.

The project team are working collaboratively with the Department of State Growth to ensure the Channel Highway serves the needs of our growing community.

State Growth is investigating pedestrian and cyclist safety crossing options in Margate (and Snug), which will involve consultation with the community separately.

Both Council and the Department will share any relevant feedback received to ensure better outcomes for the community.

How to Get Involved

This first phase of community engagement will focus on understanding the diverse needs of our community through a survey.

The survey will help to understand current issues and capture ideas from residents, workers, shoppers, and visitors who use the area.

SURVEY

The survey closed on 12 March 2024.

The final Master Plan will be used to guide future upgrades in the area.
