Council meets on the first and third week of each month. Meetings are held on Mondays at 5.30pm, unless it is a public holiday and the meeting moves to the Tuesday. We have no additional committee meetings, as all matters are included on the Council agenda.
Meeting dates are published in the Mercury and on Council’s website. Copies of the meeting agendas are available four days before each meeting on Council’s website, at the Civic Centre or by calling Customer Service on (03) 6211 8200. Audio recordings of the council meetings are also available online.
Attendance at Council Meetings
The public is once again able to attend Council meetings subject to compliance with State Government COVID-19 regulations. Due to maximum density limits associated with COVID-19, we are able to accommodate a maximum of 12 people in the public gallery. Members of the public wishing to attend Council meetings will need to register their interest by following the Eventbrite link below. The usual meeting regulations (Section 31 of the Local Government (Meeting Procedures) Regulations 2015) will still apply and members of the public are invited ask a question without notice at a Council meeting or by providing written notification to the General Manager no later than 7 days prior to the meeting date. Written questions may be submitted via email to email@example.com or by completing this online form. We will also continue to live stream meetings via the link available on Council’s Facebook page.
View our Guidelines for Public Question Time (PDF).
